Most of our jewelry is made of the fins and not of the spines, so harmless. Also, the venom of the Lionfish are based on a protein and when it’s heated or dried the venom deactivates and harmless too.

The jewelry is made in the Lionfish Caribbean Jewelry studio in Curacao. The fish are harvested by many different divers, the fish is served in Lionfish Caribbean´s own restaurant Lionfish&Mangoes and then the jewelry is made. When in Curacao, feel free to come and visit to learn about the process of how we make the Lionfish jewelry.

Yes, you can! We work with local dive shops like The Diveshop Curaçao (www.thediveshop-curacao.com) that offer lionfish hunting trips. They’ll show you how to handle the fish safely, use a spear, and store your catch in a zookeeper. It’s fun, hands-on, and a great way to help protect the reef. Note: you need to be a certified diver.

Lionfish are invasive in the Caribbean. They eat huge amounts of small reef fish, leaving corals without their natural cleaners. By catching them, we protect biodiversity and turn a problem into something delicious and beautiful, served on your plate or crafted into jewelry.
